Hornby's Headed For Captaincy

SEVERAL players could be suitable to replace Trent Barrett as Dragons captain but there's no real out-and-out favourite emerging from the pack. Mark Gasnier should be spared the role because the focus will be intense enough on him next year after his switch to five-eighth, while Jason Ryles will probably be overlooked because of his past brushes with referees. Mathew Head and Dean Young are future leaders but will be re-establishing themselves after major injuries. Ben Hornby is probably the frontrunner and would do a solid job, although he doesn't have the profile of Gasnier and Ryles.
