Elicia Murray finds false lashes that do away with all the mess and stress. The productModelCo Fibre Lash Brush On Lashes, $48.The claimJust one application of this kit is said to act like instant eyelash extensions, which last right up until you remove your make-up. It's advertised as "smudge and tear-proof but slides off easily with warm water so no more panda eyes".The processThis product is housed in two sleek silver bottles. The first contains a reasonably moist mascara with a thickish wand. Despite the natural-sounding bees wax and carnauba wax the product contains, it has a rather unpleasant chemical scent. One coat of the mascara separates and blackens the lashes, providing a pleasant if not overly dramatic effect. For the next step, the smaller silver bottle contains tiny white fibres that resemble crushed fairy floss. When brushed over mascara-covered lashes, the fibres stick to them, making the lashes look thicker and longer. Finally, another coat of mascara is applied over the top.The verdictWow. This stuff works. It's almost too dramatic for daytime. My lashes look incredibly thick and long but they haven't formed clumps like I've experienced with some volume-enhancing products. It's a more natural look than the false lashes you stick on yourself and infinitely more comfortable than professionally applied individual lash extensions, which tend to hurt when you place your face on a pillow or rub your eyes. The mascara is good enough to use on its own for a more natural look and even with the fibres, it comes off easily though it does take an extra cotton square to remove all the residue.DetailsSee modelco.com.au.
